Why join the George Business Chamber?
Affiliation to a Business Chamber has many true benefits for your business. Membership provides access to all of the programs and events that are scheduled through the year.
The George Business Chamber (GBC) works very closely with local and provincial government to provide a representative business voice when necessary. Chambers also foster relationships that are mutually beneficial and that work to protect and promote the interests of trade and Commerce.
A Business Chamber is recognized as the “official voice of Business” and affiliation to a chamber offers credibility to a business as an entity that is serious about business. Each affiliate is presented with a membership Certificate which they can display.
The George Chamber provides numerous platforms to encourage and support business development and relationship building. The activities that are organized by the GBC throughout the year are designed to promote face to face interactions between business people who essentially become advocates for each other’s business. Some activities include, but are not restricted to, Business Breakfasts, morning marketing sessions, networking evenings, training interventions and an annual Golf day.
The highlight event of the year is the Annual Business Awards Evening which is a Glamorous Gala Event where recognition is given to businessmen and women who have excelled during the Year.
The GBC issues of Certificates of Origin on behalf of Businesses who export their products. The Chamber also works closely with the Dti (Dept. of Trade and Industry) to promote international trade. Members are often presented with the opportunity to attend international EXPO’s that are funded by the Dti and the process is facilitated by the GBC.
The Chamber also provides advertising opportunities for its affiliates as well as the option for affiliates to be listed on the Chamber’s website.
As a key “driver” of economic development, the GBC recognizes the importance of training and information sharing as being an essential service and as such, engages with accredited training providers to provide training with relevant content after consulting with members and identifying their needs.
