The evening was very well attended and included numerous guests who were visitors to George. The guests included Christo van der Rheede, CEO of the AHI (formerly known as “Afrikaans Handels Instituut”). Christo was the guest speaker for the evening. His topic “Business Chambers as Economic Think Tanks” was well received and his message insightful and inspirational. Also in attendance was Merlyn van der Rheede, wife of Christo van der Rheede, Lynette Francis, the intrepid host of the Praat Saam programme (Radio Sonder Grense (RSG)). Lynette wowed the audience earlier in the day at a broadcast which aired live from George and was attended by the public and the delegates who attended the 5 day Entrepreneur workshop which was facilitated at the end of August. We also had the pleasure of the company of the Executive Mayor, Alderman Charles Standers and his wife Estie, Prof. Quinton Johnson (Campus Principle of NMMU, Saasveld) and his wife Dr. Bridget Johnson, Mr Luvuyo Ngubelanga (CEO- South Cape FET College) Dr Johan Louw (AHi facilitator for Entrepreneur Training) and our very eloquent and charming Master of Ceremonies, Morné Pietersen, Station Manager of EDEN FM.

The evening programme also included two songs which were sung by Jessica Lloyd who delighted those present with her lovely and unusual voice. “Our very own Katie Melua” is how she was described by one of the guests who was seated at my table…….watch this space J

We would also like to extend our sincerest Thanks to our Headline sponsor, Nedbank Business-Garden Route and co-sponsors Die Burger and SAB (South African Breweries) for their support which generously contributed to the success of the evening.

Thank you to all of you, our loyal members, for your continued support!
