The P.E delegation was generously hosted by the friendly management of staff of the of the Protea Hotel-King George, over a period of 3 days and were welcomed, on their first evening, to a sumptuous dinner which was attended by the Executive Mayor,Charles Standers, the Deputy Mayor, Daniel Maritz and the Municipal Manager, Trevor Botha, amongst others. The initiative was instigated in a combined effort by the George Business Chamber and the George Municipality and was inspired by the need for George to cast its marketing net further afield in order to establish business relationships with the metropolitan areas to the east and west. The project was proposed as a venture that had been identified as a result of the George Municipality’s Economic Competitiveness Initiative (Phase 1, PACA project). The delegates were treated to site visits and were transported to observe the operations of a diverse group of businesses in George and surrounding area. The visits gave the visitors a taste of the many facets of business in George and it is with sincere appreciation that we give thanks to the following company’s that allowed us to showcase their individual company’s: Specialised Solar Systems, Group Editors-George Herald, FarmFresh Direct/South Cape Flowers, Garden Route Distributors, AquaCulture Insight, SAB Hops farm and factory, NMMU –George Campus, Misty Meadows, Solluco Call Centre and VELVET: Home & Living.
We would also to extend a special note of thanks to Mario and Giuseppe of Tours 4 South Africa who generously transported our visitors to the SAB Hops farm and brewery.
